Hirondelle House Visitor Center Opens

Roche+Roche is pleased to announce the opening of Hirondelle House, the new tasting room at Clos du Val Winery on the Silverado Trail in Napa.

The French family-owned Clos du Val winery has been growing and making wine in Napa since 1972.  The new tasting experience has been dubbed Hirondelle House (French for swallow), in honor of the swallows that have traditionally nested in the eaves of the winery buildings.

Clos du Val engaged Michael Guthire & Company to design a beautiful contemporary concrete and glass stand-alone tasting room to serve their growing group of wine club members and visitors.  The beautiful interiors, featuring reclaimed barrel wood walls and a dark-stained wood ceiling, were designed by Erin Martin. The landscape by Roche+Roche features three exterior terraces shaded by specimen London Plane Trees and Southern Magnolias, with board-formed concrete walls and fire pit, all overlooking an insectary meadow framed by a unique vineyard layout.  New board-formed entry walls and steel gate, with updated plantings along the entry drive set the tone for the new experience.  Visit soon and let us know about your experience!
