Black Stallion Cottages

Napa, Calfornia

The then new owners of Black Stallion Winery determined to develop an existing historic cottage on their ‘back 40’, remodeling it and adding a second cottage, each with a spa, bocce court, fire pit and shade pergola.  The cottages share a gated entry, parking and landscape, as well as an event venue complete with lap pool and spa,  restrooms, solid-roofed terrace with outdoor fire place, and an outdoor kitchen with grills and pizza oven.  All vertical surfaces are clad in Texas ‘Roughback’ limestone, including the custom entry fountain that greets visitors as they arrive.  The pool area pivots from quiet private resort to lunch for 12, to dinner for 100, all with  views of the surrounding vineyards.
