RH Yountville

Napa, California

RH, Restoration Hardware recently opened RH Yountville, an elegant wine country compound on Washington Street in Yountville, a first of its kind food, wine, art and design experience.  The complex features five classically inspired buildings on two adjoining properties, seamlessly joined by the careful selection of materials and finishes.  The north property features three new Backen & Gillam Architects-designed buildings linked by decomposed granite courtyards.  Twin buildings are home to boutique design Galleries showcasing RH home furnishings as well as offering professional design services.  The glass-roofed restaurant facing Washington Street offers indoor and outdoor brunch and dinner by chef/restauranteur Brendan Sodikoff, surrounded by 100-year-old olive trees sourced by Roche+Roche, and placed both inside and outside the building by NorCal Trees.

On the south property, the historic two-story stone Ma(i)sonry Napa Valley building, has been remodeled and reimagined as the Wine Vault.  Here premium, limited production wines can be tasted at the monumental limestone tasting bar inside, or in the surrounding gardens in trellis-covered outdoor living rooms and at the 40-foot live edge redwood dining table amid fountains, an outdoor fireplace, and heritage olive trees.  Roche+Roche collaborated with RH’s in-house design team and Backen & Gillam to create the outdoor living spaces that tie the five buildings together and allow guests to enjoy the outdoor wine country lifestyle.
